One Costume, Four Dogs
Next up in sample knits for The Knitting Nest - a project that happens to also be the household Halloween costume.
All four dogs are going as Harry Potter this year. I didn’t give them a choice.

This sample is for a class I’ll teach for beginners who can already knit and purl, to give them skills in double-knitting, changing colors, k2tog, finishing, and blocking.
These are Gryffindor colors, even though I was sorted as a Ravenclaw. If you haven’t been sorted into your house yet, this test is pretty cool. |

My guess is that Gus would actually be sorted into Slytherin, which explains his discomfort with wearing Gryffindor colors. |

Abe awaits his turn. I think he’d be a Gryffindor.
It was at this point that I started to worry about the destruction of the “costume”, so Ike didn’t get a chance to try it on. That’s okay. Ike has suffered plenty of humiliation with modeling handknits. Happy Halloween! |

Don’t you just love the long suffering look that only a dog in a Halloween costume can get? LOL! And I have discovered that Basenjis have it down pat. Raisin is “Dogzilla” this year. She is not amused. But everyone else here at work is.

Oh they do have those looks that lead me to believe they are plotting some serious halloween tricks for you later today. It is too much fun playing with dogs though.

Don’t you just love a dog in costume? I think Abe and Ike might feel left out since they didn’t get to try it on. They may plot some revenge.

adorable! I am taking a break this year and not forcing Joe to wear a Halloween costume (although he was going to be a bumble bee). He’s pretty happy with my choice.

dogs in costumes- that has to be the ultimate in doggie humilation !!
We put one in a skunk costume, it was hilarious watching at the door keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
