"-ation" Nation

It's a fast-topic-changing Friday, but with a sort of theme...

Collaboration

My talented, artsy pal Craig has agreed to collaborate on a project with me. I knit this simple baby sweater, and he will make it more interesting.

Take a look at Craig's Etsy shop. He's really good at customizing clothing, among other things.

(Knitting details: This is a top-down, hooded, raglan cardigan. You see that I just have it completed from the neck to the armpits here, working the body section while the sleeve stitches are being held on scrap yarn. I'm using Cascade 220, 100% wool, my own design.)
Complication

When I started this sweater, it was solid blue. Then I thought, wouldn't it be nicer with white sleeves?

Then I thought, ugh - that means I'll need to have three balls of yarn going at once. What a pain.

Then I thought some more, and, no...that means I'll have FOUR balls of yarn going at once! Yikes!

Try again, blondie. It's FIVE.

(Two fronts, two sleeves, one back. I got there eventually.)
Temptation

We still don't know the gender of my sister's baby (due in August), but I've had a problem with focusing on all things girly while I knit for this kid.

Look at the pink scrap yarn I'm using to hold the sleeve stitches. Wouldn't this sweater look GREAT with some pink in it??
Frustration

So I was at PetSmart the other day, buying doggie supplies and having a new tag made for Abe. Only when I got home did I bother to look at the back of the tag.

Grrrr.
Palpitation

A Canadian woman who I met in Holland gave me this bit of advice: if you aren't going to commit yourself to a regular fitness schedule, you should at least sprint up every set of stairs you encounter.

Okay, so it isn't really a workout, but it does get my heart going. The dogs always run up the stairs, and they're fit.
Contemplation

This photo was taken about 10 minutes before his dinner time. It's not hard to imagine what's on his mind.

I love all of the sharp angles on Abe's head. He has a very handsome face - it's just difficult to see it in most photos.
