On The Blogging Bandwagon

December 4, 2006

Hmmm...I wonder how many other blogs are going to mention putting up a Christmas tree over the weekend. Most, maybe? BUT OUR'S IS UNIQUE, I SWEAR!

At least we like to think so.

I would like to mention that I think it's really too early to put up a tree, but we don't want to repeat the mistake we made last year. We went tree shopping too late, and we didn't get much of a selection.

Let me first mention that I think I'm getting old.

*cue old lady voice*
I remember the day when Chris and I went tree shopping, and we felt like we were getting a really expensive tree for $60! And it was a big, pretty tree, too. Why, young folks today have no idea about the cost of trees.
*end old lady voice*

The last line about young people was totally unnecessary.
Okay, back to why our tree is unique.

The symmetry. The slightly OCD part of me loves it. This tree may be the most perfectly-shaped tree we have ever had.
Next...
Unlike most people, we will never store any presents under the tree. That is because of the bad dogs.

Here is a Christmas card I had made back in 1998 when it was just me, Ike, and my two kitties. Can't trust animals around a tree.

And the last reason that our tree is unique...It is a knitter's tree with a mitten where one might normally find an angel or a star.

I didn't make this mitten, but for years I have intended to replace this one with a handknit.
From a distance, it looks like the tree is waving to us.

Hello, tree!

Unique? Well, unique enough.
Chris had to wake up early for a 5am conference call this morning. Here are Lou and Ike trying to snuggle with him while he talks to Singapore or something...
Later in the call, Chris gave up his seat to Gus and Ike.

Announcement! The Christmas CD Contest was won by Pink Sugar Princess Rosie, which means I get to send a CD Down Under. The Random Number Generator picked "9", and she was the ninth person to leave a comment. Congrats, Rosie!
