Into The Last Year of My 4th Decade

April 27, 2007

Doesn't that sound so much older than 39?

How did I celebrate my birthay? I ate, and ate, and ate, and ate, and ate, and ate.

It started with lunch. Well, no, it started with the fact that I skipped breakfast so I could eat more at lunch.

Drew took me to The Ideal Birthday Lunch Location. It covered all three requirements for perfection:

1. All You Can Eat
2. Sushi
3. Dessert Bar

Here I am with my made-to-order chocolate and banana crepe. We ate for more than TWO hours.
After lunch I actually took a break from eating for a few hours. Here's Drew looking very "King of the Basenjis". People have been regally sitting with Basenjis at their feet for thousands of years.

Drew also enriched my birthday by gifting me some pink yarn. There is always a place in my heart and my home for pink yarn.
The mailman brought another gift (with the greatest wrapping paper ever)...
...and inside was this handmade goodness from my friend Melissa.
Here's a detail of the fabric.

Pink!

Sugar Skulls!

Love!
The last eating marathon of my day was at a place that I like to call Chuck E. Cheese for Grown-ups.

More than two hours of fondue goodness.

I consumed about 2,125,000 calories yesterday.

Yeah, it was a good birthday.
Here's Ike.

When he was still a puppy, someone in-the-know about Basenjis and dog shows told me that he has a "really nice crest". I'm not entirely sure what that means, but I think he's showing it off here.

Have a great weekend!
