Happy, Happy, Halloween!
Halloween, Halloween!
Happy, Happy, Halloween! Silver Shamrock!

Five points if you can guess that one.

Or ten points for this one:

The night is still
and the frost it bites my face
I wear my silence like a mask
and murmur like a ghost
"Trick or Treat"
"Trick or Treat"
The bitter and the sweet

We went to a Halloween Party on Saturday night...

...But before I get into the Halloween party photos, here's Chris right after the Cardinals won the World Series.

Gus looks a little less than excited.

Here is the packaging for our costumes. You see "Tacky Tourist" there, right? Check out the French translation right under that.

Ummmm....I don't speak French, but I think I can translate that myself.

Here we are, all dressed up.

The costumes required a lot of doctoring-up on my part, but they turned out well. There is actually an intertube full of air inside the costume to hold it out at the hips.

It's hard to see, but Chris is wearing dark socks and sandals.

Oh - and Chris is supposed to be wearing the camera around his neck as part of his costume, but he had to take it off so we could use it for this photo. Oh well.
Lorelei was our lovely host. Here she is with Strider, her Basenji.

All Basenji people will understand this...Lorelei kept Strider on leash during the party.
Lorelei made all kinds of spooky appetizers...like eyeballs and worms...
Witches' fingers...
And spooky punch.

I wanted a close-up of Lorelei's ears. Her costume is Arwen from the movie The Lord of the Ring: The Return of the King, specifically from the scene called "The Return of the King"; where she reunites with Aragorn just after he becomes King and just before they marry, making her Queen Arwen, Queen of the Reunited Kingdom of Men.

I copied that description straight from the email Lorelei just sent to me describing her costume.

Julius Caesar (aka Todd) won the individual costume contest. He looked really good.

Here's Lorelei presenting him with his prize.

Guess who won Best Couple costume?

The contest winners, with our hostess.

Even though Caesar has won so many battles, he still looks proud to win a bottle of wine.

You know, there were more people at the party than just the four of us here, but we didn't get any good photos of them!
Victory!

Happy Halloween!
