Beads, Basenjis, & Bunnies

March 26, 2007

The title sort of says it all...

Here's a beaded scarf that I finished a couple of weeks ago for my friend Melissa's birthday - namely, another Gilda. (She admired the Gilda I made for myself, so I was hoping she'd like one of her own. She did.)

I knew what I wanted to make for her, but I wasn't sure about the colors to use. Inspiration was very near by...
... and came from the "Save the Date" card for her upcoming wedding.

Isn't the artwork great? The bride-to-be did it herself! Look closely and you'll see a Basenji!
Having yarn left over from the Palette Sweater is nice. Since there are 30 colors I always have whatever color I need on hand - and sometimes I use the yarn as sort of fibery "paint chips" for trying out new color combinations before I buy yarn.

Recently I finished a project from these four colors, but I need to ask my pregnant sister two questions:
1. Can you please try your hardest to make the baby a girl?

2. You don't want these to go to waste, do you??
These are another pair of booties from the book 50 Baby Bootees to Knit by Zoe Mellor.
The best part of these booties has to be the picot edging around the sole. It makes them look like little cakes.
Oh, all right.
