Chris Said I CouldNovember 6, 2006 As the last part of my family introduction series, it's Chris' turn. But I don't want to introduce Chris in a normal way, by telling you his favorite brand of socks or his biggest pet peeve. Instead, I want to introduce him by showing you his school pictures. That way it keeps it interesting. You can watch him grow up. One of Chris' greatest traits is that he never asks me not to do something I want to do. Like this post. He even helped me with it. I'm going to keep the text minimal and let the photos speak for themselves... |

First Grade You'll notice that this is the ONLY photo where he is wearing an everyday shirt, and he needs his bangs cut. That's because this is a make up photo, since he was sick on picture day. He wasn't prepared for this photo. This also happens to be his mom's favorite school picture. |

1998. This isn't a school picture, but I need it to help me transition time-wise into the next photos... |

Now I bring you back to 2006. On Saturday, Chris ran in a 5K run to raise money for prostate cancer research. (Chris has been very clear that the run wasn't FOR prostate cancer, but FOR research AGAINST prostate cancer.) |

I was being crazy photograph lady, taking a zillion pictures. Here he is in the red cap, just past the starting line. |

Chris' official (chip) time was 21:16. He got third place in his group. He's really proud of himself, especially since he's not really a runner. (Just a life-time jock.) He's only 2 months away from 40 years old. He's counting down the days that he can be in the new age bracket, even though he's heard that the 40-45 group is tough. |

He's really looking forward to turning 40. |

Mandatory Basenji content: While we were plowing through a box of photos looking for Chris' school pictures, we found this one. We had a professional pet photographer at our house in Seattle (Best Friend Photo), back when we just had Gus and Ike. I forgot about this photo, since I never got a frame for it and it's been in that box. They are so sweet. |
