A Chris-less Weekend

April 2, 2007

I'm accustomed to Chris traveling, but only during the work-week. This weekend he went to San Antionio, Texas for an alumni thing, leaving me here for a rare Chris-less weekend.

Just me and the dogs. (I'm never totally alone, of course.)

Here are Chris (right) and his fraternity brothers Rich and Don.

That's funny. To look at them now you would never believe they are characters in Chris' college-day stories.

They look much too smart and composed to ever have been a part of the tales I've heard from Chris. (And I'm pretty sure I've only heard the tamest stories.)
Apparently, part of the weekend involved Future Frat Boy Training.

Don's son is already very good at dancing on tables.

This picture kills me. He's so cute, his outfit is so cute, his feet are so cute...and I have a weakness for little beasts on tables.
And me? Well, I watched a Dog Whisperer marathon on tv for one thing.

After a couple of hours of the show, I was so fired-up with the feeling of knowing how to properly interact with my dogs...but my dogs weren't really fired-up to interact with me.

Ike! Gus! Wake up! Do something bad so I can properly correct you!
I also worked on the Dollar and a Half Cardigan. I'm now on one of the fronts, and deeply immersed in "at-the-same-time hell".

I currently have two row counters and one set of tally-marks going to keep track of what I'm doing.

This is the right front. The left front will also have a cable running through it. I might need another row counter.
Remember the seriously dull baby pants I knit for my sister's baby? Well...

I was reading Kate Gilbert's blog over the weekend, and she says that the knit pants she recieved as a gift are her favorite knit item for her baby.

It makes sense...they're warm, stretchy, and soft. The baby can probably get several months wear out of them, since they're okay a little baggy or a little stretched. Plus, the fact that they're wool will be ideal for my sister's Alaskan baby.

Ugh. There may be more baby pants on my needles in the future. I guarantee you that they will NOT be white and stockinette next time.
