'Tis the Season for a Contest

November 27, 2006

Welcome back to your real life after the long weekend. But it's not your real life. It's your life when there are only four weeks left until Christmas.

Let's kick-off the season with a contest. On Friday I posted about a Christmas iMix I created. You can win that swingin' mix of holiday music just by leaving a comment on this post before Saturday December 2nd. A winner will be randomly chosen from the commenters.

More details on the contest...

If you don't have iTunes, a list of the songs in the mix can be found on my Friday post, and if you do have iTunes, they can be found here.

Winner gets to choose whether you would like a downloadable version for your MP3 player, or a CD sent right to your house.

Good Luck!
Awww! Cute, huh?

My friend Zarina did something that I ADORE...she sent me a photo of a knitted gift I gave her actually in use.

This is her son, Miles, modeling his Nona's Baby Jacket made from Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb. (Free Pattern in PDF format here.)
Not only did Zarina go and give birth to the cutest model anyone could ask for, but then she:
  • Remembered to photograph him in the sweater during the small window of time that it actually fits him
  • She sat him down in the most beautiful backdrop of green plants and purple flowers
  • She photographed him in natural sunlight on a lovely day
  • She made sure Miles was wearing cute clothes to show off the sweater
What more could I possibly want from a knitted-gift recipient?

Zarina knows what she's doing. She's a knitter, too.
I mentioned in an earlier post that working on the cabled ribbing of Ivy is SLOW GOING. I said that when I was still only on the first piece.

After I finished the back and both fronts, I was really, really tired of Ivy's ribbing. So tired, in fact, that I decided to knit both sleeves at the same time...thinking that I had better complete all of the ribbing at once and be done with it, or risk abandoning the project for something fun and exciting.

Here is all of the ribbing, stacked up, finally finished. Almost 23 inches of tiny, stretchy cables on size 3 US needles.

Now that I'm finished with the ribbing, the rest of it should go much more quickly.

Man, I hope so.
It's hard to keep Ike from doing all of his shopping on The Online.
