Copycat and Pretty DogMay 7, 2007 I saved the fast-topic-changing-Friday for Monday. For safety purposes, keep your head and arms inside The Mixer at all times. | |

| Chris went to San Antonio for Cinco de Mayo and all I got was this lousy photo. Really, the camera crapped out on him and this is the only shot he could take. Can't you just smell the tacos and margaritas? Next...! | |
| Because I'm a total copycat... Laura flashed some beautiful stitch markers in front of me, and they were pink and sweet and I had to have some of my own. I have never owned pretty stitch markers. I never wanted to fuss with anything that wasn't a simple "o". Nothing hanging down to snag. No fancy yarn-shaped beads to get tangled in a cable. These are perfect. The shop is Entrelac Stitch Markers, and she has a bazillion colors. Everything is beautiful and totally reasonably priced. Next...! | |
| So much for me making fun of people with secret projects. My current project is secret, but I can share the yarn. Louisa Harding Grace. Half merino, half silk. A luxury to work with - just keep a nail file handy. Smooth nails and cuticles are necessary for this yarn. Good excuse to go get a mani. Next...! | |
| One thing I've never kept a secret is my love for Baby Ull yarn. It was brought to my attention that I could actually drive to see this yarn in person, instead of just ordering it online. I squealed, then made plans for a roadtrip with Drew up to Twisted Yarns in Spring, Texas. You must understand something. Houston is a massive, sprawling city, and I make it a point to stick to the three square miles around my house. Spring is about 25 miles away, but totally worth it. What a fantastic yarn shop. Folks up north have it good. It begs the question - just how far WOULD I drive to see more Baby Ull colors? Norway, perhaps? Next...! | |
| I know I'm biased, but man...we've got some pretty dogs. Whoops! Late-breaking news...Ann in Norway asked if she could use a photo of Ike for her post on sock knitting. I wish I could read Norwegian. |
