Crankin' 'Em Out

11 Knitted Christmas Gifts Total
8 are complete, but need blocking and buttons
1 is in progress
1 is not started, but the yarn is here
1 needs yarn

I called this post "Crankin' 'Em Out", but that's not really true. I've been working on Christmas knitting since March, and I'm just at at time now where I can actually see light at the end of the tunnel...

Intense Blue Christmas Gift = finished! (needs blocking)

This is not funny-looking stockinette. It's a good stitch for fabric that lays flat after blocking.
First Ever Stab at Intarsia = finished! (needs blocking)

also happens to be:
First Ever Stab at Charting My Own Intarsia Pattern = finished!
Buttons for the Massive Steeking Project = here!

Love love love these little pewter buttons.
The Most Boring Project Ever (but Which Will be a Well-Appreciated Gift) = in progress!

This yarn is so boring, in fact, that I felt it necessary to photograph it with these antique figurines to add interest. It is, however, really soft.
Yarn for the Next Gift Project = ready and waiting!

That's the Crankin' Christmas Update, now on to non-knitting items...
Yet another surprising grocery store song.

I was here looking at the dips in Kroger, when the overhead speakers stared playing a They Might Be Giants song. Ten points if you can guess the song. I was the only person in the store singing along.

I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that piped music is going to play my teenage favorites. I'm embracing it, even.
Chris got to play hooky from normal office work yesterday to do some charity work. He helped build these picnic tables and this deck. It was hot and sunny, and he's kinda sore and sunburnt today. Good job, Mister!
Here's a little doggie movie. We got caught in the rain on our evening walk. Basenjis HATE to get wet. Once we were inside, Gus and Ike were each desperately trying to dry the other, but neither one wanted to be the "dryee". You can hear my commentary "Don't lick me!".
