~~~Archived from February 2004~~~
Updates are long overdue - but I have excuses!
I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry that I haven't updated since October. It is now early February 2004. Here is a super quick rundown of why...
1. Got a virus
2. Virus wiped out almost everything
3. My Dutch ISP was horrible
4. Had to get a new Dutch ISP
5. New ISP isn't much better
6. Every time things go bad, it takes WEEKS to make it right
So really, you should feel SORRY for me, okay?
Two Thanksgiving photos...
Our tiny Dutch fridge isn't made to hold enough for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Our tiny Dutch kitchen does NOT have enough counterspace for Thanksgiving. Notice that I have stuff stacked all over the stove...I also have food stacked on top of cookbooks, the portable stereo, and the wine rack, you just can't see it. I also started stacking stuff on the lawn furniture outside.
Since I didn't get an update at Christmas either, here are some photos from December:
Our house all decorated
Gus wearing wooden shoes
Gus posing by the tree
Chris giving a computer lesson to Gus and Ike. We told you that these are smart dogs. Ike's pretending to listen, but it looks like he's really watching tv.
A sweet picture of Chris and Ike taking a nap.
We had a New Year's Day snowstorm...
The boys in the backyard.
Snow or hail? It covered the ground like snow.
The Shell building where Chris works, in the snow.
And some tourist-y photos...
This photo was taken from a canal ride we took in Amsterdam. It is a photo of the tiniest house in the city...see the skinny, short black building with two windows? That is actually A HOUSE.
This is a photo looking up at the old organ in the Grote Kerk (big church) in Haarlem. Mozart and Handel actually played this very organ.
It was nice outside a couple of weeks ago, so we took some photos of The Hague...
The famous Mauritshuis Museum, home of many priceless pieces of Dutch art. Looks like you'd have to swim up to the door to get in, right? Don't worry, there is a door on the other side.
The Hofvijer.
Ice skating on the Hofvijer. (This is a man-made ice rink...not really cold enough for skating.)
The Gevangenpoort - the old jail and justice center from the 13th century.
Chris in front of the Hofvijer.
Chris in front of the Mauritshuis.
Outside the Peace Palace.
Me, inside the Peace Palace, with the statue of Justice behind me. (I hate this photo of me, but I can't very well avoid having my own photo on my website forever.)
