There was even some bitching over the weekend when I realized that the whole "pre-strung" thing was totally wasted. The instructions say to take one of the strands of beads (pre-strung on a piece of string), tie the string to the yarn, and just shove the beads to the yarn. NOPE. There was no way that these beads were going to go over any sort of knot. Believe me, I tried...and a lot of beads ended up on the floor.
So there was bitching when four dogs wanted to find out what glass beads taste like.
And a little more bitching when I had to string about 10 feet of beads by hand.

Then I knit a little. It was then that I realized why the yarn is cotton and rayon. Other fibers might have stretched out from the weight of the beads.

Now the scarf is finished and I am totally in love. The pattern says "This swank, sexy scarf is really jewelry", and it's true!
Well, it certainly isn't for warmth...the glass beads are COLD on your neck.

Details about this scarf - there are three sizes in the pattern, and I knit the narrowest, longest one. I used every last bit of yarn, and my scarf is about 43" long. (Any shorter would have been too short for me.) The color combo I used was the Wasabi yarn and the Amethyst Translucent Copperliner beads.
I was too quick to judge Twisted Sisters. They got this one SO right.
I'm looking forward to using beads again.

Remember how I've said many times that Basenjis are always looking to rest in the sunniest, warmest spot in the house?
Well this is just reeeeeeeediculous .

Folks, we've had him tested. He is NOT a kittycat.
