Me and My Friends, We'll Do Just Fine

October 9, 2006

Friday night was a big night. My friend Ann (an American living in Holland) was in town, and I was invited along with some of her friends for a big night out.

The evening started with a little Mexican food and beer. On a normal girls' night, this would be enough, right?

Not tonight!
Because there was a limo waiting for us. A limo with loud music and champagne for the six of us.

My attempt to get myself in the photo left me a little flash-shocked.
So why bother leaving the Mexican food restaurant? Why the limo? Why the champagne?

Because we were on our way to see...
This man.
Yes - Rick Springfield.

Not the concert I would have picked for myself, but a damn good time nonetheless.
Before walking into the concert, we all turned into a bunch of 16-year-olds. We chanted "Chug! Chug! Chug!" while Lisa finished her beer. That's the limo driver next to her.
The venue coordinators must have known that there would be a lot more women at this concert than men. So we had the rare treat of using a ladies' room that was only a ladies' room because someone stuck a piece of paper over the word "Men" that read "Women".
I felt really bad for the people behind me during the concert. See how they are all leaning to the left? It's because I'm 27 feet tall, and I was wearing heels. Sorry, people behind me!
At one point during the concert, Rick left the stage and walked right over the arms of our seats.

He sweat on me.

It was cool that he got that close, but...ewwww.
I think Ann had a good time.
Here I am with Elise back in the limo.

After the concert we went out to a pub for more good times (read: drinks).
After the after-drinks after the concert, we were looking pretty wiped out.

The limo dropped us off, and I was in bed around 2am. (I'm normally a 10:30 bedtime person.)

The next day I slept-in a little, and Chris endulged me a hangover by allowing me to do nothing except to lay around, and eat the greasy food that he kept bringing for me.

I ask that he allows me one hangover a year. This was my "one".

It's clean-livin' for the rest of the year. (haha)
Here's a treat for ya. A little movie of Rick Springfield singing "Jesse's Girl".

And if you were wondering about the title to this post, it is a bit of lyrics from the song "I've Done Everything for You" by Rick Springfield. The words and music are actually by Sammy Hagar.
I leave you with Ike, looking really alert.
