Helen Back

February 16, 2007

The title of this post is actually a character from the BBC show The Young Ones...as in "I've been to Helen Back." Say it a few more times in your head if you aren't getting it.

Sort of the way I'm feeling now that the headcold is letting up...the world is once again full of wonderful things. Tastes! Sounds! Smells! Breathing!

Beware - sharp topic changes ahead.

First off, there has been no end to the fun a new blocking board can bring.

A quick setup, and one can use it to make a private boudior...
A fort...
Or to measure stretched-out legs.

Once I get the tiny Basenji hairs off of it, the blocking board is going to be really useful - especially for the Master Knitters course swatches.
Anne Boleyn has a new friend. A dismembered body part!

I love the look of this thing, but I don't know much about it. It's cold to the touch, but I don't know what the material is. I don't know when Max Mayer was making gloves, so I don't know how old it is. I don't know why the fingernails are painted when it's supposed to be wearing gloves.
I do know that it's a great glove model. Fetching, huh? snort

Any guesses to the age of it?
One last thing. My sister in Alaska finally listened to my pleas and decided to go ahead and have a baby so I can knit for it. Thanks, Sis!

As I've been longing to do, here's a teenytiny Norwegian ski sweater. Yes, those are size 1 US (2.25mm) needles. Lots of stitches per inch, so it's a good thing that babies are small.
