Gallery of Christmas KnitsPart 1, The In-LawsDecember 27, 2006Now that Christmas 2006 is behind us, I can show you the knits I've been working on for the last several months. Today's post is the first in a series of six. Yes, I've been knitting my ass off. |

| Pretty sweater, bad photo...because no one in this house is tiny enough to model it. Pattern: Sienna Cardigan, from the Fall 2006 issue of Interweave Knits magazine Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, 100% Peruvian Highland Wool, in Amethyst Heather Knit for: Chris' mom, in size XS |

Here is a close-up of the glass buttons I used. This sweater turned out really nice, and the heathered yarn creates a little interest without taking away from the fine details of this pattern. I especially like the long ribbing at the bottom and the picot edging on the collar. Chris' mom said the sweater fits her perfectly. Yay! |

Here's a photo I posted months ago of a vest-in-progress for Chris' dad... |
| ...And here it is all knit up. Pattern: Classic Camel Vest, from Men in Knits by Tara Jon Manning Yarn: Knit Picks Andean Silk: 65% Superfine Alpaca, 23% Silk, 22% Merino Wool, in Cinnamon Knit for: Chris' dad, in size M |

| I learned something while knitting this: knitting a vest takes away a lot of the worry as to whether something is going to fit or not. And sure enough, Chris' dad says the vest fis him. You see that Chris is my model here. Lucky for me, he and his dad are close to the same size. Also lucky for me, Chris was not only willing to do this photo shoot, but he was willing to give me a dressy look (above), as well as this casual look. | |
| And how could we get through a whole photo shoot in this house without a dog appearing in at least one shot? Gallery of Christmas Knits, Part 2 on Friday! |
