Magical ThingsFebruary 14, 2007 Happy Balentime's Day, as my nephew used to say. I'm still not felling well, so Chris and I are going to put off our Valentine's celebrations until Friday (the restaurants will be less crowded then, too.) I've been sick for a few days now, and needless to say - I've been feeling tired and things have been getting on my nerves easily. Here are a few things that are bringing a smile to my face, even through all of the germs... |

| My favorite tea in my favorite tea mug. I totally quit drinking tea when we moved back to the US for two reasons - first, because I was so excited to have access to American coffee again. The other reason is because I don't have what the Dutch call a water cooker - and once you've had one, it's hard to go back to boiling water on the stove. But I took the advice of some of Monday's commenters and made tea. And now I realize how much I have missed it. |

| Simple, familiar knitting. This is my SEVENTH pair of Cable Footies from the pattern in One Skein (What can I say? I keep getting requests for them.) Something pretty on the needles that doesn't require much thought is exactly what I need right now. Recognize the yarn? I had one skein left over from Wicked. Just enough for footies. | |
| Pretty, functional thing from the mailman. Kelly showed up at Stitch 'n Bitch a few weeks ago with a beautiful DPN organizer from The Organized Knitter, and I was totally impressed. What was once a mess of DPN packages is now a case of crimson silk. |

| Open it up, and see all the people. My congested sinuses are in love with the tidiness of it. |

| Good, quiet doggies. Dogs are smart. They know when it's time to roughhouse, and they know when it's time to settle down and let my decongestant start to work. There are actually two dogs in this photo. Have a nice Valentine's Day! I'll be saving my Valentine's kisses until I know I won't get Chris sick, too! |
