An Optimistic Lie

February 19, 2007

I feel like I owe you an apology. On Friday I said that I was feeling heathly. I said that I had 1-2-3-4-5 senses working overtime again, and that I was able to breathe without congestion.

Well, it's what I wanted, but not exactly reality.

Truth be told, I was sick all weekend. And I've discovered that when I'm sick, it's difficult to be creative and take photos for verypink.

So it's a short post today, with no more optimistic lies. I bring you the truth about what I was doing over the weekend...besides blowing my nose.

I knit. Luckily, I wasn't feeling too sick to knit - which would have really worried Chris.

Here is the tiny ski sweater for my sister's unborn baby of unknown gender. My sister has agreed that she will dress either gender in green and white, provided I'm sure to wash off all of the cold germs before I send the sweater to Alaska.

You know, knitting the Palette sweater has over-prepared me for this little project. Fair Isle? No prob - it's only in two colors! Steeking? Doesn't scare me...this is only a tiny baby sweater! Besides the fact that it is probably less than two weeks knitting time on this little thing, instead of months.
I also finished the cable footies, and improved on the pattern once again - this time by extending the cables to the end of the toe.

That's what I did over the weekend. Since I doubt you want to see photos of kleenex boxes, I'll leave you with that.

Now I'll try to entertain you with photos of dogs who were feeling just fine...
Handsome Abe. Chris took this photo, because he has a weakness for the dogs when they cross their paws like this.

The colors and the shadows and the pose...well, they call came together in this photo.
But of course...Lou is a ham, so he couldn't stand that there were photos being taken without him.

I really think that has to be what was going through his mind.
A beautiful, sunny weekend tailor-made for four African dogs.
