A Quack Quack Here and a Arf Arf There

March 23, 2007

Since Basenjis are The Barkless Dog, there really aren't any "arf arfs". I didn't know how to convey "[silence], [silence]".

It's a fast-topic-changing-Friday, so hold on...

First off...

OMG. WE HAVE FOUR DOGS.

No, let me start again. The six of us would like to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who has wished us well (or even shed a tear!) over the happy ending to our newest family member's story. We all love Abe very much, and we feel very lucky that we get to keep him here with us.

Lou is especially happy. Another three-year-old in the house to play with.

Confused? This relates to Wednesday's post.

I don't really have a good photo for this one...but this is where Christine and I sat to record the latest episode of the Pointy Sticks podcast. (Yes, she was nice enough to invite me back yet again. I swear I didn't use the words "prison" or "bitch" even once in this episode.)

The podcast is live now, and available for download. You can find it on iTunes or here at the Pointy Sticks website.

As of posting time on Friday morning, the podcast wasn't live yet. Should be available very soon.

hee hee!

This is the very silliest pair of baby booties ever. The pattern is called Duck Feet, and it's from the book 50 Baby Bootees to Knit by Zoe Mellor.

hee!
I can NOT get over how much these booties inspire a giggle in me. I'm not normally a giggler, I swear.

These are going to look great on the Great Unborn Alaskan Niece or Nephew. (Gender identification coming soon.)
I almost got Ike to model them. I do believe that he feels too dignified for Duck Feet. You see? He just walked off.

Last up today - this is a screen shot from Chris' Nike+iPod thingie. Here's a quick explanation...

There is this cool gadget for runners that works with iPod. While Chris is running and listening to music, a sensor attached to his shoe is tracking his speed and distance, and sending that info back to his iPod. When he gets home, he uploads that info to the Nike website to see how he is progressing, and to compare his time to other runners. This thingie has proved to be a great motivator for Chris.

He has been trying like hell for the last few weeks to make the Top Ten. Lookie here! He's SEVENTH in the US for men in his age group for the 10k! See? He's "Barkless3".

Run, Chris, run!
