Back in the Saddle AgainJanuary 24, 2007 First off, thanks to everyone for the help and advice with the changes I need to make to verypink. I think I actually have a good idea what I'm going to do now. Back to the title of this post...back in the saddle of what? Master (aka Blackbelt) Knitting, of course. Now that you've read the title of this post, I hope that there is an Aerosmith song stuck in your head. |

| When I signed up for the course, I knew it wasn't a great time of year to start something new. I knew I was going to get a few weeks into it, then have to put it on hold to finish Christmas knitting. And that's exactly what happened. But Christmas is over, some fundraising knitting is behind me, and I'm ready to get this baby sent off. I've finished all of the knitting for the first level, as you can see here in this pile of pink and gray. Now it's time to answer the questions and write up the report. I think I should be finished by the end of the week. |
| This knit cap is the final project for level 1. If America celebrated an annual Make Your Head Look Big Day, I would certainly wear this. In this self portrait, I'm trying to show you the silly i-cord topper. |
| I have a new best friend. His name is Bitter Apple. Now that Ace has been with us for a couple of weeks, he's getting more and more comfortable. In addition to that, he's getting more and more comfortable with what he considers his toys. One squirt of this magic potion, and dogs don't want to put the non-toy item in their mouths anymore. If there was a spray like this to keep ME from chewing on things, it would taste like green peppers. |
| But the spray is a bit too late. Ace had some fun with this cord that I PAINSTAKINGLY stitched into these cushions. I'm not a fantastic seamstress, so getting this cord straight was one of my prouder moments behind the sewing machine. (Is "prouder" a word?) I'm not sure how I'm going to fix this, but you can be sure that it's sprayed in Bitter Apple now so it won't get worse. |
| The other day I came home to find this mouse laying belly-up, flashing red, on the front room floor. It has a few battle wounds, but still seems to work okay. |
| The key he chose to pop out is appropriate, don't you think? I've always left the laptop open around the other three, but I learned the hard way that I need to keep it closed now. The problem is that I can't seem to restore control. (honk) |
| But ya know, destructive or not, he's cute. This little bed was made for one Basenji-sized dog. Lou was sleeping here peacefully when Ace climbed in next to him. Lou was perfectly accommodating! (I would normally expect a little annoyance from the imposed-upon dog in a case like this.) |
| Before they got totally comfy, I said "Lou?", and he flipped his head around to see what I wanted. Then I snapped the photo. |
