Superbowl WingsFebruary 5, 2007 There is the Superbowl, and there are wings...and there are Superbowls where there are two instances of wings. Let me explain... |

| So what's a girl to do on Superbowl Sunday if she doesn't like football? Maybe, at the encouragement of a male person, she should turn the house into Football Central, and serve a bunch of chips and wings and beer? |
| And then invite a bunch of people over who DON'T want to watch her tivo-ed episodes of "Dr. G, Medical Examiner"? Nah, it was a good time. Since the party was pretty much self-sustaining, I was able to get some knitting time in, to boot. I think the horsey-team won in the end. | |
| Speaking of knitting time, here is what I was knitting during the big game. It is Wicked from Zephyr. I had heard talk about this pattern for a few weeks, but had never seen it. That was, until Kristin blogged about being really excited to knit it. I agree with her. I was smitten as soon as I saw the pattern, too. I'm always a sucker for a top-down sweater, and I'm really into the neckline on this one. I'm just about ready to separate for the sleeves here. Speaking of the neckline, a wide-necked sweater would model better on a mannequin with arms. |
| Back to wings. Here's Gus. Doin' his thing, looking pretty normal. Until you get a close-up... |
| It's a tiny feather, and the second instance of wings in this post. Gus is clearly trying to grow a pair of wings. In case you're wondering, there are feathers all over our house, all the time...thanks to the sofa pillows. |
