Supposably

March 7, 2007

The title has nothing to do with the post - it's just something I heard in a tv news interview yesterday. I wonder if the people who say "supposably" have never seen the word written-out? Or is it some kind of speech issue that makes it impossible to say "supposedly"? I swear I'm not being catty. I'm really wondering.

I want to thank everyone who was brave enough to leave a comment in haiku on Monday's post. They were a blast to read.

Aaaaanyway...

Yesterday I spent a lot of time taking photos and posting these handknits as part of an ongoing Basenji Rescue fundraiser.

They are each available for sale right now on Basenji Rescue's Mission Fish site, which is a part of eBay. I have set 100% of the proceeds to go to BRAT. BRAT uses the money for vet bills, vaccincations, spaying & neutering, etc. for dogs like Abe.

The items are all hand-knit (of course), and made from the most luxurious fibers.

Note to other knitters - if you visit the Mission Fish site, you'll notice that I've set the prices kind of low. It's not because I don't value my work. I'm hoping to spark bidding with low starting prices.
Speaking of rescued Basenjis...

I couldn't resist getting a photo of a bathrobed Chris holding Abe. Where does the bathrobe stop and the dog begin?
Speaking of rescued Basenjis again...you gotta watch this hilarious video taken by my friend Melissa.

Here's the story: Melissa and her soon-to-be husband were doing some work on their rental house after the tenants moved out. They decided to take the dogs with them and make a day of it.

Here's what she said, "We thought the dogs would just hang out, but instead they ran the Basenji-anapolis 500. They turned the rent house into their own little Brickyard. I promise this isn't the same piece of video spliced together over and over again--they really are that dorky."

Here's the video - Basenji-anapolis 500 . It's on Google video, and it's really fast-loading.
The baby ski set is moving along quickly now that the bigger pieces (sweater, pants) are finished.

Here is the little cap. I've finished most if it here, and I'm just picking up eleven-thousand stitches around the cap and earflaps for the edging.
The dogs have made a full-time job of enjoying the perfect weather while it lasts.

They're pretty good at their work.
