Baby's First TattooDecember 22, 2006 Chris has been saying things like, "This weekend I'm definitely going to get my tattoo", for FOUR years. On Wednesday evening, he actually did it. |

| So we get to the tattoo parlor, and Chris sees what he wants right away. I said NO. Not really. He came in with the design he knew he wanted. |
|
| Under the needle. See how artsy I was in this photo, getting all three of us in there? | |
| How drunk does a person have to be to really want this tattoo?? | |
| All done! Phonetically, the tattoo says "kazoku ai", which means "family love". It looks great, and the process didn't bother Chris at all. |

| The artist is the talented Mike Packer from Shaw's Tattoo, here in Houston. Changing topics now... |

| Now that the mohair is off the needles, The Mister Sweater is on. I'm following more of a recipe and less of a pattern for this one, from Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitting Without Tears. I saw the man's sweater that Caro is knitting from this book, and I knew it was the sweater for Chris. As you can see, I've decided to do a "striped stripe" around the body (and the sleeves will get it, too). I alternated rust and gray every stitch for several rows to make the stripe. This "recipe" tells you how to make a seamless, bottom-up sweater in any size, in any gauge, with any design you create. The yarn I'm using is Peace Fleece, 70% wool and 30% mohair. Oh, and I'm calling it "The Mister Sweater", because, believe it or not, "Mister" is the nickname I call Chris. It's a long story. |

| All four of my men (Chris + 3 dogs) have their birthdays within a few weeks of each other. On Wednesday, Gus is going to be ELEVEN. He still looks like a puppy. |
