Can't Trust That DayOctober 23, 2006 Monday, Monday. Nothing cohesive to hold this post together. Just roll with it. |

| I was in Target (aka "The 100 Dollar Store") over the weekend, and I passed by the book section. In the women/bookclub/popular section, I realized that I had read a buttload of the books there. Am I that clear of a demographic for Target? I always thought I was kinda unique. Apparently not. |
|
| After Chris parks the car in the garage, he runs to the front of the vehicle, inspects how closely he's come to the workbench, and says, "I beat Marsha! I beat Marsha!". Ten points if you know what the hell he's talking about. | |
| I like to watch Dr. Phil so that I can count the number of times his guests nod their heads and say, "Absolutley". It really is an extraorinary number of times per show. |
|
| There are more beautiful shawl pins in the world! Ones that are nice and simple and well made without being gaudy and loud! |
|
| These two pins are made by Leslie Wind, a knitter and jewelry maker. As soon as they arrived in the mail, I ordered more. This one is made of bronze. | |
| They also double as hair pins. It's not often that one gets to see the back of one's head this clearly in a photograph, and I'm pleasantly surprised with my haircolor in the back. Thanks Mr. Hairdresser! |

Last night, Chris was looking through a folder of papers for work and I said, "What, is that your grown-up Pee-Chee?" And he stared at me blankly. I just learned last night that not all regions of the US had Pee-Chee folders in school. Just to get everyone up to speed, I found this image and decorated it much the way we did in Jr. High. Pee-Chees were a standard when I was a kid. The same way people say "band-aid" for "bandage", people said "pee-chee" for "folder". |
| On the needles... A little something of my own design using this basketweave stitch. |
|
| I was happy to see that the basketweave stitch has an interesting "wrong" side, sort of a zig-zag pattern. Should look even better after it's blocked. | |
| Hope everyone who made it to Rhinebeck enjoyed themselves...too bad you're probably going to miss Texas' answer to sheep and wool festivals - the fabulous, Las Vegas-style, internationally recognized, KID 'N EWE FEST! I heard that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going to be at Kid 'N Ewe. Seriously, if you plan to go, sign up on the wiki and let everyone know you're coming. And/or take a look at the Kid 'N Ewe home page. |
