Unrelated Things

It's one of those days...I just have so much to show you that I can't keep it all contained into a cohesive theme.

First - something very important in my life - my new knitting bag. Also happens to be the coolest knitting bag in the world.

I bought the album on eBay, (Sex Pistols, Never Mind the Bollocks), pulled out the actual vinyl and sent the cover to Candee at 2 Cheeky Monkeys Design, and she sent me back this bag.

This bag meets two important criteria for me in a knitting bag. It stands open without flopping closed, and it is going to hold up to the abuse that any knitting bag of mine must endure.
The back of the bag is also the album back. We can see all of the good songs...God Save the Queen, Anarchy in the UK, Holidays in the Sun.

I picked this album because it's pink, and it's one of my all-time favorites.

I spent Saturday at a 2-hour baby shower that ended up being an 8-hour baby shower. Because it was that good.

Here I am with the guest of honor, Jackie. I agreed to this photo because I knew my stomach would look flatter than hers.
Here's Jackie with her twin sister, Janna. Janna told me that Jackie is a few minutes older than her, and because of it, she goes through major steps in life first.

Must be nice to have someone (especially someone who's genetic material is identical to yours) to watch before you leap.

Seriously, they're both great gals and lucky to have each other as sisters.
Here is the whole group at the restaurant where the party started. I think everyone (except me) grew up in Louisiana. I can safely say that Louisianans know how to do the baby shower thing.
Here I am with Alice, Jackie and Janna's sister-in-law. I knew Alice before I met her, because she is one of the final two contestants on HGTV's "Design Star", my current favorite reality show.

At the time of the baby shower, Alice knew who won the show, because they taped the final episode on Wednesday. But she couldn't let on to any of us!

We had to wait until the following evening when the show aired to see if Alice won her own show on HGTV.

Update: She didn't win, but she graciously took second place (and she won a car). I have a strong feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of her on tv.
The party eventually moved to Jackie's house, where she changed into this maternity tank top, and drank her alcohol-free beverage. The rest of us did a good job polishing off her husband's beer stash.

I didn't get a photo of Jackie's tank top, so I had to borrow this photo from a shopping site.

I honestly never thought that I would feel relief in 80 degrees. Is it possible that I might actually survive this summer??

Chris has spent a lot of time out of town lately. This is what the dining room table looks like when he's gone.

It becomes less of a dining room table, and more of a knitting storage area. I eat in front of the tv when he's gone, so isn't this a better use for the table?
