Warning: Knitting ContentSeptember 6, 2006 I have a spreadsheet to keep track of Christmas shopping, and a seperate page for the progress of the ELEVEN knitted items I plan to give as gifts. (See why I need a spreadsheet?) So I'm knitting so many nice things that I would like to show off, but I can't. I'll dance around it here. There's a doggie pic at the end for the non-knitters. |

| The only non-gift knitting that I have going on is the Master Knitting Program (aka Blackbelt Knitting). I'm just about finished with the knitting part of it. These are some of the swatches, all blocked and tagged. (Tidy! Love it!) | |
| Here's how the swatches will be shipped all over the country for evaluation. (Tidy again!) |
| This is the last bit of knitting I have for Level 1 of the course. Once I'm finished with this hat, I need to complete the question section and write the report. Then I can send it out. I haven't found a website with great photos of each of the swatches, so I plan on fixing that. I'll scan each of them before I submit the notebook, but I won't post the swatches until I know that I passed the course. |

| I finished seaming the tiny hooded sweater, but not without complications. I was trying to seam it while drinking beer at Stitch n Bitch last week, and I ended up having to rip out everything I did, because nothing was lining up properly. This is a baby shower gift, and I just hope the recipient doesn't check verypink until after Saturday. I believe that knitting and drinking is a fine combination, as long as I don't try to do anything that requires counting, cable needles, or measuring. |
| As far as the massive steeking project goes... I've finished the body and sleeves now, and I still have to cut up the front, cut away for neckling shaping, and knit on the border. So, all I have left to do is pretty much the hardest part. But it shouldn't take much longer now. Since I can't show you the actual sweater, I'll just show you the yarn used for it. Seeing all of this yarn "loose" on a table would have made me panic while I was knitting the bulk of the sweater, because I had to keep careful track of each of the colors. Look at the browninsh colors. Can you tell me the difference between Tan, Twig, Nutmeg, and Fawn? Or Mist, Fog, and Ash? Or Hyacinth, Lilac, and Purple? I couldn't, so... |
| ...the yarn had to live in labeled Ziploc bags. When necessary, I included a description of the color on the bag. | |
| Another Christmas gift, nearly finished. Here is how a perfectly nice vest looks after stitches are picked up for the button band and neckline. Almost 300 stitches smashed together on circular needles. |
| Cute and sweet and kind of stinky. Our Basenjis don't need baths very often, but they do now. |
